It's The Final Countdown
It’s true! The final countdown has arrived! Tomorrow morning (far too early) we will officially start a new journey. Pregnancy has been great…well…pregnancy, but in the morning that journey in which my wife has done such an excellent job, finally comes to a close. Only 13 days late! Tomorrow we will head to the hospital early in the morning and remove that little girl!
While this has been a long and extended journey, a whole new one begins tomorrow. It will include diapers, poop, crying and all the fun stuff, too. I don’t know what I am doing for the most part, but I figure she is a James and she will probably figure it out faster than her old man anyway (although I do know how to swaddle her).
Now that this chapter is closing, I think it’s a good time to stop (very briefly because it is about time the chapter ended) and say thank you to all of you who have been praying for our growing family. We have been extremely blessed with a healthy baby and momma and I would be willing to bet that is partly because of you. Thank you so much! We could never thank you enough for it. Please continue to pray for us as we grow and learn together, for Kara-Kae as she is recovering from “growing a life inside” of her (as she would say) and for our whole family as we adjust to a completely different life!
PS – Tomorrow we finally get to meet our little girl!
PSS – And you probably will too.
Next Setlist I'll Be A Daddy
Well once again our “borrowed” Internet is not doing anything for me and I am forced to use the advanced technology of my iPhone…which is awesome. So for the final Sunday before I am officially holding my baby girl in my arms, here is the last setlist you will get from me as solely a husband. Next time I will be a daddy!
Salvation Is Here – Hillsong United – Look To You
Healer – Hillsong – This Is Our God
Jesus Saves – Carlos Whittaker – Carlos Whittaker – EP
All Because Of Jesus – Fee – We Shine
March Madness!
As if the process and expectations and feelings and…well…just everything surrounding having a baby isn’t enough to make a month worthy of being labeled madness, our daughter has now officially decided that she didn’t want to come before the NCAA tournament. I haven’t really decided yet, but I’m not sure if she has been waiting until during the tournament to make me have to choose between the two (or move the crib and changing table in by the TV) or if she has been waiting because she is already excited to get to watch it with me. I think my heart says the latter. But either way, we now have a difficult decision to make and I need your help here. I’m not sure which scenario we should go with.
- The baby has been named and the tournament has no bearing on it at all.
- Her name must be changed to resemble the name or mascot of the winning school from the game she is born during.
- Her name must be changed to resemble the name or mascot of the NCAA champions.
- Her name must be changed to resemble the name or mascot of the furthest reaching Cinderella team.
- It doesn’t really matter because we all know Kara-Kae wouldn’t let me do something that awesome anyway.

What say you?!
Bad Internet And No Labor
Well, we’re having some issues with “our” Internet at the house for some reason so I am blogging today from my iPhone. Therefore it will not be extremely long today, but I wanted to give you all an update on our baby situation. We are truckin’ along at 40 weeks and 6 days now and Little Baby James is still all curled up and comfy inside my wonderful preggo. KK is doing far better than I would have. We are learning patience and God’s timing through this whole ordeal, too.
It hasn’t been the easiest thing in the world, but we are resting in the fact that there is a perfect plan am a perfect person in control of it all. We are bummed for the family that they didn’t get to see our little girl as soon as she arrives, but we have been very blessed to get to have them all here. We are so thankful that they all had the ability to come out and even more so the desire to be a part! I don’t ever want to take that for granted.
So as we are closing up week 41, thank you foe your prayers and encouragement. This little one will be here really soon since we will be taking her out toward the end of week 42 if she doesn’t decide to take the trip on her own. She will be here and our lives will never be the same. Funny how that used to seem so crazy and now as we are days away from it I can’t wait! (minus the not sleeping much ever again part). Thanks again for your prayers. Please keep them coming and we will give you some more updates as we get closer and then have the pleasure of showing off our little baby and her new name to the world!
Kingsfield Church Setlist
I know I keep saying this, but there is a VERY good possibility that this is my last Sunday before the rocking of my world. Yes that is right. As of right now (as I am writing this) we haven’t had our baby. And that’s ok! She will be here when it is the right time for her! We will be patient and wait (probably not quite so patiently). But for now, while I continue fighting off this awesome cough that is really gonna make my singing comfortable, here is the list for Kingsfield Church today.
Everlasting God – Lincoln Brewster – Everlasting God – Single
Jesus Paid It All – Kristian Stanfill – Passion: Everything Glorious
All Because Of Jesus – Fee – We Shine
One Way – Hillsong – For All You’ve Done
One last week of the Sunday afternoon nap?
Just For Clarification
Last night we had a slight misunderstanding on Twitter. So let this be the clarification. With our families in town and getting to spend time with them, my wonderful wife (@momdiggity) was overcome with gratitude and love and tweeted the following:
Had a wonderful night surrounded by tons of family. I feel so blessed to have so many here to welcome our baby girl!!
Then I, not wanting to be outdone by my wife in the “I love my family” competition decided it would be a good retweet. So I did. And it is true. We are very glad to be surrounded by family. We are very blessed to have all these people here from out of town to welcome our little baby girl into this world. BUT, unfortunately, although we have passed our due date we haven’t actually gotten to that part yet. Also, unfortunately, Reagan will not get to meet our new little one just yet. There is a very good chance that Tate may not as well. The others are still running a risk, but there isn’t much we can do. Fortunately we have some options going into this Friday so we will see.
So for all of you out there that saw that tweet and thought we had our baby, we haven’t yet. She will be here soon but just not yet. I apologize that you wasted the good surprise on me, but you are just gonna have to muster one more. And I promise I will let you know when! Thanks for the love!
Due Date In 3…2…1…
I can’t believe the due date is already here! The countdown says 1 day left! The past 9 months or 40 weeks (whichever sounds longer) has really flown by. Well, looking back it flew by, but in the situations and dealing with the pain and discomfort and sickness it really crawled. But the main thing is that we are now 1 day away from being a full and official 40 weeks. That is FOREVER! The families are beginning to assemble here in beautiful Huntington Beach and hopefully the newest member will decide that she is ready to grace us with her little face.
Thank you everyone for all the prayers, love and support! Stay tuned because there will be plenty more blogs to come as we attempt to write through as much of this as we can! Here comes the baby!
