Ohio State continues to slide and will officially be out of the Top 10 after USC demolishes them. For the most part can’t argue with the rest, Florida maybe should have slid a couple of spots they were less than impressive against a not so good Miami team. I wish East Carolina was playing one more Top 10 team, than maybe they could make a push for a BCS game. They will end their season undefeated but the biggest game they have left is a divison game against Marshal. Too bad they play in the very sucky MAC division. I’d love to see them take down another powerhouse.

So who wins the battle of sucky vs. more sucky this week? Yes that’s right football God’s i’m talking about Notre Damn vs Michigan. I never thought i’d see the likes of those two programs so far in the pits of football crap.

I realize these aren’t your polls, so my comments are more directed at the voters and pollsters.

I find this interesting – Ohio State and Georgia have similar schedules to this point: a nonD1 team and one from the MAC. Minnesota has two MAC wins and isn’t ranked! And ECU who has beaten to ranked-at-the-moment teams and fails to be in the top 10. Heck, NO TEAM has beaten two quality opponents as ECU to this point in the season.

The biggest tragedy of all: Alabama is ranked #11 after beating (WEAK #9) Clemson and then putting up 172 yards TOTAL offense on Tulane who had 318 yards of offense…Oh and did I mention that they were displaced by the hurricane in the preceding week? Alabama won by 14 points, but was only able to muster 1 offensive touchdown (the other 2 came from a blocked punt and a kickoff return). So how is it that Alabama is now ranked #11 after beating one ranked team and then putting on a pathetic show while beating a no-name team? I wonder if sports writers even have brains. East Carolina has beaten 2 ranked teams (#17 Virginia Tech (22-27) and #8 West Virginia (24-3) and they only get ranked #14 while Alabama sits at #11. What a stinking tragedy. I don’t care much about Alabama or East Carolina, but if our pollsters can’t do any better than this I say we let the computers start doing our rankings instead…AT least they can’t be biased.

no Big 10 team should be allowed in the top 10. ever again. polls are ridiculous to begin with. georgia has a lackluster first game, while ohio state has a lackluster second game and both move down a few spots. why does this same rule not apply to alabama (as mentioned above)? just because people think you deserve to be in the top 10 before the season starts doesn’t mean you deserve to stay there just because you have ugly wins over bad teams. east carolina didn’t start the season ranked, but should clearly be in the top 10 after their wins. too much emphasis is placed on preseason perceptions and voters are afraid to vote based on actual performance. that’s all.
